Sausage and Beer

I thought the story "Sausage and Beer was very interesting. The story had a very important meaning, and to me that meaning was that family is very important, and that I should love my family no matter what. Uncle Theodore was in a mental institution, and yet his brother still came to see him, and when his son got old enough to handle to go and see him, he brought him along.

Thinking about my own experience in life definitely help me interested in the story. I basically put myself in the boy's shoes, and tried to feel emotions as if I was him. Also, I have family member's that are in jail, and just because they made wrong decisions, doesn't mean that I don't love them.
The author, Minot, made his character interesting to the reader because this experience to him was new. Him using his imagination, was very interesting to me because he didn't know what his uncle would be like, and it made me wonder what his uncle would be like.
