The American family has been called a dying institution"

I think that the American family is definitely a dying institution. American families don't look out for each other like other ethnic cultures do. In America, everyone looks out for themselves, and it shouldn't be like that. Family values are lost in today's families. No one looks out for each other anymore, and it should be like that. American families need to get back to the old time way. Now, families are putting each other down, and only think about themselves.
It seems as though family values have been thrown away. It's very sad that families don't stick together like they use to. Families are going to be like dinosaurs, because they are going to be extinct pretty soon, because families are getting further and further apart. Don't get me wrong, not every family in America is distant, because my immediate family is pretty close, but a lot of families don't appreciate each other. I think the main reason why American families are called a dying institution, is because people in the family don't respect each other. When there is an argument in a family, instead of working it out, people just stop coming around.
Family to me, is the most important thing in life. Family will be there for me when no one else will be. I think that most people will regret not being close to their family or loving their family the way that they should have. Family has your blood, and will always be people that you can count on. When people neglect their family for friends, they later find out that the people who they thought were their friends really wasn't and they come crawling right back to their family. So I say to all families today, please love and take care of each other.
